Break Your Business Goals Down into Four Categories
Break Your Business Goals Down into Four Categories
After writing out your goals, break them down into four categories:
Day-to-Day Work Goals
These are goals that are aimed at helping you to increase your company’s daily effectiveness – how to manage the office, improve customer experience and follow-up, order tracking, and so on.
It’s as simple as identifying one action that you and your team would take every day to improve effectiveness, service delivery, or profit.
These goals cannot be set in advance; you would have to set them daily or weekly, based on how the business performed the previous day or week.
Short-Term Goals
Your short-term goals are those goals that you have for your business for a year. At the beginning of every year, make sure you have a clear list of goals for your business.
You should further break these goals down into quarterly goals to make them more specific, more evident, and easier to follow.
Mid-Term Goals
Mid-term goals are futuristic goals – if anyone asks you the ‘Where do you see your business going in 5 years?’ question, your mid-term goal list is where you would grab your answers from.
Long-term Goals
You should also set long-term goals for your business. Your long-term goals specify the final destination of your business. It consists of your goals for setting up the company in the first place, and where you hope to take the business to in the future.
