Remember Your Customers Special Events
One year, I was at a low point in my life and my birthday was that month. It was one of those months where you just want the birthday to come and go, no plans, no parties because you’re moody and the last thing you want is a reminder of the fact that you’re growing older. A few days to my birthday, I walked into one store to pick up groceries.
With the biggest smile on her face, the cashier said in excitement “Oh wow! Your birthday is in a few days”. The store had my bio-data on their customer loyalty reward program.
And she went on to sing me a short birthday song and gave me a gift card courtesy of the store. She got me excited about my birthday even when I wasn’t looking forward to it.
Those are the little things that you could do for your customers that would make them love your brand and make them feel a special connection to your name – a type of relationship that breeds loyalty.
It doesn’t have to be birthdays – you could send them messages and gifts or even discount cards on their anniversaries, Thanksgiving, children’s birthdays and other festivities.
